| East Setauket, NY, January 6, 2005 - Excel Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLTC) manufacturer and marketer of photonics-based solutions, consisting of laser systems and electro-optical components, primarily for industrial/commercial and scientific applications today announced it has named Alice Varisano Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Human Resources.
Varisano, a CPA, brings nearly 20 years of experience, in public accounting and taxation. Prior to joining Excel, Varisano was a Principal with Ernst & Young, serving multinational public companies for well over 15 years. She will oversee all of Excel’s finance and human resource functions.
Antoine Dominic, Chief Executive Officer, added, “Alice is an important addition to our management team and has the knowledge, experience and drive to implement our strategies to continue Excel’s growth.”
